2015년 발표 된 ABA Bar Exam Association 정보에 따르면, 미국 로스쿨 졸업생 (JD학위 소지자)이 아니더라도, 외국에서 변호사로 일을 하고 있거나 혹은 법학사(LL.B)학위를 소지한 경우, 약 30여개 주에서 주관하는 Bar Exams에 응시 할 수 있다고 합니다. 대표적인 state bar exams으로는 Alabama State Bar Exam, Alaska State Bar Exam, California State Bar Exam, Colorado State Bar Exam, D.C. Bar Exam, Florida State Bar Exam, Hawaii Bar Exam, Illinois State Bar Exam, Iowa State Bar Exam, Kentucky State Bar Exam, Maine State Bar Exam, Maryland State Bar Exam, Massachusetts State Bar Exam, Missouri State Bar Exam, Nevada State Bar Exam, New Hampshire State Bar Exam, New Mexico State Bar Exam, New York State Bar Exam, Ohio State Bar Exam, Oregon State Bar Exam, Pennsylvania State Bar Exam, Vermont State Bar Exam, West Virginia State Bar Exam, and Wisconsin State Bar Exam 등 입니다.

Applicants from Foreign Law Schools
Standard 505 addresses the requirements for admitting foreign law school applicants to U.S. law Schools. Foreign applicants should also refer to Chart 4: Eligibility to Take the Bar Examination in the Comprehensive Guide to Bar Exam Requirements and contact the state board of examiners in the state(s) in which they wish to sit for the bar exam.
